Rubies of Eventide - Windowed Mode

This question comes up often enough that a walkthrough is in order. Many people ask "How can I run rubies of eventide in windowed mode?".

Well, first of all, a few warnings. The jupiter engine used by Rubies of Eventide is not the most stable engine in the world. It leaks memory. It has performance issues. But, if you still want to run in a window knowing full well that changing focus may cause issues, read on.

First, browse your computer to find where Rubies of Eventide is installed. This is typically "c:\Program Files\Rubies of Eventide\". From there, right click on "lithtech.exe" and select "Send To->Desktop(create shortcut)". Right click on the shortcut and select "Properties". Under "shortcut", add the following to "target" after the closing quote. "-rez rez +windowed 1 +renderwhileoutoffocus 1". Mine looks like

"C:\Program Files\Rubies of Eventide\Lithtech.exe" -rez rez +windowed 1 +renderwhileoutoffocus 1

Voila. Click on this shortcut and you are running in windowed mode. Good luck.
