Rubies of Eventide Crafting Guide and Hints

Rubies of Eventide has an extensive crafting system. Tailors make light armor requiring armor skill less than 150. Armorcrafters make heavy armor requiring armors skill 150 or more. Weaponcrafters make most mele weapons. Fletchers all the ranged weapons, ammunition for ranged weapons and staffs. All crafts are similar in process. You need to have at least one skill in the craft, you need to use the tools of the craft and you need to be at a crafting station. Crafting stations exist for all crafts in Kaj Blood, Carthas and Monistary. Drag the crafting tool to your toolbar and click on it. You have to click on it twice for armorsmithing and weaponsmithing as the first click equips the tool and the second starts the craft. Tailoring and fletching do not require you to equip the tool. Once you start the craft you get to select the category of item you wish to craft, select the grade of item and the actual item. Each refinement is reflected in the ingredients list. Once you have the desired item selected you must drag and drop materials from your inventory into the crafting window. You will see the chance to craft after you drag in the first material. This chance may change if you bring in higher tier materials to complete the recipe. Click on the craft button once you have enough materials to craft. Continue to click on the craft button after each attempt until you have the quality of item you wish or you fail. Failing consumes some of the materials you put in the crafting window.

Many hours of crafting have developed the following hints that may be helpful to all crafters, novices and veterans alike. With that, Lore of Eventide presents the following tricks of the crafting trade:

  • The chance to craft is determined by the highest tier material in the craft. You have the same chance to craft flesh golem / praxite studded armor as you do flesh golem / bronze studded.
  • Your best chance of achieving a skill up is when the chance to craft is between 60 and 80%
  • Use +craft items and crafting buffs to keep cheap crafts in the optimal skill up range. Wearing norite rings lets you start weapon crafting on iron. You can equip items if the chance to craft drops below the optimal range to get additional chance to craft.
  • Buffs do not survive a logout. Do not be afraid to take a crafting buff. You can always log out to get rid of it when your chance to craft exceeds the optimal range
  • Use cheap materials when possible. Mix cheap items with expensive materials on crafts. Make sure you use cheap materials for the ingredient that has the biggest quantity.
  • Iron is basically free. Visit the tombs and ask people killing iron golems to loot it and drop it instead of leaving it on the corpse. Very few people actually collect the iron off the iron golems.
  • Yewh is basically free. Lesser and Greater ents drop it in large quantities. Many people do not bother to pick it up and some will give you stacks if you ask.
  • Ironwood is plentiful but its sale price makes it hard to mooch. Offer more than the merchant and you can usually buy as much as you need.

The road to becoming a grandmaster craftsperson in Rubies of Eventide is a long journey. These hints provided by Lore of Eventide should help make the journey a little less costly.
